7//05/10 crit.

Issues raised:
  • Tone of voice
  • Why tumblr? Why not blogger?
Action to be taken (include timescale where appropriate):
  • Try looking at blogger layouts instead of tumblr. 10 mins
  • Try looking at other methods of word play apart from get lost.30 mins
General feedback:
Tone of voice: " GET LOST" is a negative term and may put people off.I'm going to try and look for a softer approach
although I still believe given the context " get lost " is used correctly. The blogs a good idea as its everchanging and constantly updated.

Speaking from experience crit.

Has a problem been clearly defined?
What is it?
It is a genuine problem?
It is appropriate?
  • problem not defined - starts with visual development of the actual branding.
  • no actual research into a problem
Is the audience is being taken into consideration?
is the tone appropriate for the audience?
how will the audience engage with it?
  • Dont know how logo is relevant to getting lost or not getting lost - should be more structured to represent direction & simplicity.
  • youtube is relevant to students.Interactive. Maybe the "mod" typeface is actually more relevant.
What further research is required/would be beneficial?
what/where/who/when?
practical/theoretical/both

  • What form will it take?
  • what is the problem?
  • logo development relevant to problem/concept.
What methods are being used to document the research/development?
Is the research appropriate?
Are they effective?
  • illustration, design context, annotation.
  • They are not really appropriate to anything though. Maybe look more at maps/directions and how these can be incorporated into the design. look into development of layouts etc
